The 56th BFI London Film Festival has announced its 2012 programme that includes 9 films from India as part of a worldwide selection of 225 feature films and 111 shorts from more than 65 countries. Apart from the mainstream Bollywood films like CHAKRAVYUH by Prakash Jha, and Rani Mukherjee starrer AIYYAA by Sachin Kundalkar, the list includes films by debutant directors like Vasan Bala (PEDDLERS), and Anand Gandhi (SHIP OF THESEUS). Mira Nair's THE RELUCTANT FUNDAMENTALIST that opened the Venice Film Festival to mixed reviews is also part of the programme. The festival will also screen MAHANAGAR (THE BIG CITY) a Satyajit Ray classic. The 56th BFI London Film Festival runs through October 10-21, 2012.
