Baby shower help! - BabyandBump

It depends on what you're comfortable with but yes, generally you invite both your family and his. Unless there's a reason not to, at the least invite his mother, grandmothers and adult/near adult sisters and daughters if he has them. You don't have to get into Aunts, cousins, nieces, young siblings/children ect. if you don't know them or don't want to. You can also invite your friends, any neighbors you're close with, co-workers if you want to and could invite his female friends or friend's girlfriends/wives if you want.

You could suggest doing it at your house but even in a large room you can make it work. Furniture can be arranged in a more intimate setting to keep everyone close and chatty. Most community halls are multi-use and not packed wall to wall with furniture and seating. Many times there are large open areas for dancing, you could use those for games. There will probably be counters or extra tables with no chairs set off to the side. You can have gifts put there. There may be a bar area where you can set up food and drinks. There may also be a small play/toy area to keep any children who attend entertained. Plus you don't have to worry about a mess left at your house, the hosts get to clean up the hall. So it does have it's perks. Relax and enjoy the ride
